ARROW CHRISTIAN
ACADEMY
My name is Amanda Moore and I have been homeschooling for 12 years. I am a dedicated follower of Christ, wife to Simon (of 20 years), and Momma to Eliana (15), Jonas (13), Ronan (9), and Clover (4). Certified in education for the State of Oklahoma, I taught in a public school classroom for Oklahoma City Public Schools before having children and becoming a full-time homemaker. Our family is heavily involved in ministry at our home congregation in Norman, OK leading the Children's Education Ministry, planning and running events, and teaching youth and adult classes.
As a family, we have always loved sharing the beauty of life and love with others at our table. We have always enjoyed hosting parties, meals, and gatherings and our family culture frequently revolves around food. The more our family grew through these experiences, the more we realized that 1. We could produce healthier food than we could buy and 2. People are so much more affected by the Gospel when they are first fed well. Jesus often ministered across a table. This led us to a life of homesteading in 2019. We live about 45 minutes Northwest of Ada in Wanette, OK where we have been building our current homestead since 2021. In all of our endeavors in health, food, lifestyle, education, and stewardship, we first ask: What may have been God's original design for this thing? With that in mind, we often choose character over convenience and approach tasks with a motto of "old-fashioned on purpose."
My favorite hobbies are cooking for a crowd, studying and researching, planning events, raising our family's food, and teaching. I look forward to meeting your students where they are at this year while teaching them about household responsibilities, intentionality and sustainability, stewardship, character development, and the beauty of God's world.
