My name is Stephanie Bittner.  I  live in Davis, Oklahoma, with my husband and three children.  I graduated from East Central University in December 2001 with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education.  While in college, I chose to take Sign Language as my electives since I was attending church in Sulphur, OK where we had several deaf members in our congregation.  I took ASL I, II, & III while getting my degree.  I have since then interpreted at church, interpreted for a friend’s deaf son at 4-H, and have many deaf friends whom I interact with weekly.  I am NOT a certified interpreter, but I enjoy helping others in any way I can especially in communicating with others.

 

My husband and I feel that it is very important to home-school our two children.  I really enjoy being able to pour into their tender lives, but I do miss teaching in a classroom setting.  My family and I  attend church at Faith Center Church in Sulphur, OK.  I am one of four team teachers who teach in our children’s department at church.

 

I have taught/co-taught ASL I & II here at ACA for the past seven years.  I have taught speech three years in the past seven years of my time at ACA.   I also have a love for public speaking and feel that our students need to learn this skill in order to be a productive part of today’s society.  I look forward to working with you and your children to help impart this beautiful visual language that God has given us!!!
